I found this page http://www.panteraplace.com/page137.htm and it shows him using an aftermarket unit made by Pantera Performance or something. Does anyone know where I can find this unit? The stock one is rusting and about to fall off, I woudl like to replace it with something of this type. Thanks! I also did a search on Pantera Performance and can't find it...

LittoDeViL:

Pantera Performance sells the hand brake bracket that bolts to the bottom of the frame rails that I used. The stock calipers, cables and hand brake lever are used with this setup. The key thing is that the bracket is removable.

I installed one of these units and it was a nice installation. If you're thinking of upgrading your emergency brake system, there was an article in the March 2003 POCA Newsletter written by Jack DeRyke regarding an aftermarket emergency brake system sold by Pantera East. I've been in touch with them and basically it is a seperate caliper modeled after those used on the Viper. As of this writing, they still don't have the cables the sytem requires in stock. I think it'll run around $300 or so.
Depends on what youre changine/adding. Mike's adaption used stock rear calipers and an aftermarket hand-lever & cables while my adaption used stock hand lever & cables but aftermarket calipers similar to Marion's more modern units. Both Marinos & my setup accomodate wider than stock rear rotors while the stockers do not. If I go any further with my present e-brake unit, I'll use a Fiero or Porsche 914 hand-brake lever mounted on the driver's rocker panel. Both these units pull up & lock, then the handle drops to the floor for ease in getting out, with better leverage than the stock reach-over-the-console to apply. This by the way is similar to the late wide-body Pantera's brake-handle positioning.
Do you kno how much approx. that aftermarket e-brake from Pantera Performance is?

Hmm intresting, the only problem I have right now is, like i said, the stock bracket right now is rusting thru and if it breaks off, it'll just drag on the ground and I won't know it til something gets pulled out or i check under the car. So for now i'm not even using the e-brake anymore and leaving it in gear to park, and just learning to drive it better heh. But the e-brake is convinent. And with the Pantera Perofrmance one, it would be nice to relocate it so it doesn't interfer with the coolant hose. Thanks for the replies, I really appreicate it!
