While making small talk with a co-worker who also happens to be a "Car Guy" of the German variety, I brought up the subject of W12's. Much to my surprise he tells me he knows of a source that has several W12's available. These particular W12's are not from wrecks but from previous Audi test bed cars that are prohibited from being sold, but were purchased and dismantled for parts. For "chits-n-giggles" I inquired about cost. The price quote for the engine and all required electronics was 12K, which included shipping from Europe to Portland International airport.

This engine swap is more than I would like to take on, but these things look sweet as seen here. If anyone desires such an exotic item, let me know and I will provide contact information.

I wish I had the ability to swap that engine into my car. I struggle with our archaic American V8. Didn't some one do the measurements and determine that the size of the W 12 wasn't that much off of a Cleveland and not as wide as a mod motor? I thought there was some guy in Houston who was trying to pull this one off. How very cool.
Charlie,

I just spoke with my co-worker who is in the loop on these engines. They are located in Germany so I asked him if he could get a price quote for shipment to Sweden and a quote to have the buyer pick up on site. I did that because it may be much cheaper to pick up on site (import/export fees/taxes/tariffs) than have it shipped to Sweden. I will E-mail you off line when I get further details.
