I'm going to start collecting parts for next winters suspension rebuild. Everything is at least 30 years old so it is overdue. Has anyone gone the full billet route and if they did, what would they do different or would they do it again, given the expense? I'm interested in the aluminum uprights since there seems to be an opportunity to shave a lot of weight out of the back of the car. Does anyone know a source for these? I called Hall and they said they're not making them anymore. Is all the billet stuff made by one outfit and then distributed by all the Pantera Vendors or does everyone have their own source? Thanks everyone. Vince

vince,

Wilkinson pantera makes a complete aluminum set up front and rear. The only thing is i don't believe any of it is adjustable, just a replacement of stock.I have a completely adjustable front aluminum suspention from jhp motorsports that absolutly looks and works perfect. You can obtain a large amount of castor and camber settings which means alot in the handling of the car.It also incorporates std ball joints that cost @ $40 to replace.Price out ball joints from detomaso.I do believe jb offers a rear set up also but i already had a steel adjustable set up from ppc in colorado. As far as weight goes, the stock system is just as light as the billet system so weight savings is not great.I would not go for the expense of aluminum unless it can be used to adjust geometry of the car.
contact JB with JHP Motorsports @ jb@jhpmotorsports.com

he did mine a number of other pantera owners. Small shop, great guy. You can find pics on my site.

they are adjustable and also use off the shelf bushings that can be found just about anywhere. They also provid more caster adjustment than any other set on the market for the Pantera.

I get the part about being able to adjust for camber and that's good. I was more concerned about the uprights. I've seen pictures on the board of guys who've had catastrophic failures of the axles or the faulty bearings and I've got 30 year old bushings anyway so after this summer, it's all going to get updated. I've read conflicting reports if it's a waste of time and money or a well engineered solution. I do track the car so I'm aware that I'm a candidate for failure and the money spent on the updated design would be much cheaper than taking out a corner panel and God knows what else. I'm also intrigued on the idea of pulling 30 or 40 lbs. out of the back of the car. I've read different reports on that too.
