Be aware that unless stated otherwise the blue thunder intake is designed for passenger cars and has an angled carburetor pad.

Blue thunder does make a Pantera specific intake that has a flat milled carburetor pad.

Blue thunder is, as far as I know, the only manufacturer to make such a flat pad version for the Pantera.

If so desired, you can always have a angled pad milled flat for a Pantera application.

The carb pad is normally machined for a very small angle, I believe 5 degrees. The amount of material removed to make the carburetor mount "flat" is very minimal. As 4V wrote, there is no performance to be gained or loss. With the air cleaner assembly removed you wouldn't be capable of detecting the difference with your eye.

The difference is the angled carburetor "kicks" the rear of the air cleaner higher than the flat mount carburetor does. The rear-most edge of the air cleaner assembly may interfere with the engine screen or deck lid. This would be most likely to happen with Pre-L Panteras, and shall be more of a problem as the diameter of the air cleaner assembly increases.

In a Pantera use the flat carb pad. You are going to need to figure out the spacing for the carb and air cleaner that you choose though to get the top where you want it.

There is no difference in performance between a flat or angled carb pad but there is a difference with differences in the volume of the plenum and the notch in the divider.
