Here is something for your eyes and ears.
It´s a De Tomaso -72 Pantera, powered by a 4,6l BMW Alpina V8 all aluminium engine.Everything that is done to this car is done by father and son Lars and Erik Bodin-Ek from Stockholm/Sweden. They have built their own injection system and the exhaustsystem is also custom-made by themselves. With these "modifications" the engine delivers around 400+hp.The Alpina engine is new for this season. The last years they have had the slightly smaller 4,0l engine from a BMW 540.
The total weight of the car is around 1170kg featuring carbon-fibre lids in the front and in the rear, and the seats are carbon-fibre seats from a Lotus car.

Of course they have saved the old Ford engine to make it possible to put the car back in it´s original shape again.

I hope you enjoy this car as much as i do..
here is the link to the film i maked:

Thank you for sharing.

For me, that's a good thing.
Maybe the car would've been taken more seriously..and be worth more with a BMW factory engine.
I know deTomaso used BMW engines later in life...
FWIW.

It does sound good, but better than a clevor at full song? That is highly subjective. Maybe they should have dropped in the 427 SOHC, then maybe people would have taken it more seriously lol.

I have always seen the Pantera as a having a real engine and a real heart vs some of these ricers and small engine cars. When they move to a small cube higher revving engine I just lose interest.

I couldn't agree more. Don't ever think of placing a Honda engine in the Pantera...

A 4.6L V8 BMW engine is a great start.

My choice would be the current M5 or M6 500+HP V10 BMW engine...

Yeah, that BMW M5 engine would be nice. But, probably wouldn't fit back there with the ZF bolted on behind it.

But as long as we're talking about V10's, how about a 2007 Ford 6.8L SOHC 3V Triton V10? They make 362 horsepower @ 4750 rpm and 457 ft/lbs torque @ 3250 rpm in stock trim. Think what's possible with a custom cam and exhaust! That would keep it all in the family.

Or, how about one of these arse-kicking late model Toyota V8's. I know, sacrilege! But, the 2010 Tundra is offered with a 4.6 V8 that makes 310 horsepower and 327 ft-lb torque. The 2007 Tundra was available with the 381 horsepower i-Force 5.7-liter V8!
