Does the brake light pressure switch have anything to do with the turn signals working ?

They're separate.
Your new problem could either be a short, blown fuse, bad turn signal switch, dirty/rusted bulb holder(s).
Don't overlook the central ground point under the dash, behind the gauge panel on the console. Above the tach is a stud which has 6 or 8 separate ground wires attached to it. Unbolt the ground, wire brush all the connections clean and re-tighten. Loose or corroded wires here can cause some really weird electrical problems.

Forgot the flasher...if the lights illuminate and don't flash, this could be the cause.
also, one bad bulb can cause the others to be out of wack.
The possiblities are endless. You just have to be a good detective and start eliminating each possible cause..one by one. A good volt-ohmmeter will be a great assistant.

I'm sure you already know and have verified this but these only work with the ignition in the run position unlike most cars where they will operate in the accessory position.

I'll be interested in what you find , Coz. I purchased #7087 last year and the turn signals have never worked. New T/S switch, new Bosch flasher, clean-tight connections, including grounds, clean bulb sockets, good fuses, power at the right places. I went to working on other parts of the car....

Here's what I have so far.

I have 2, yes 2 emergency flasher switches in my car. One in the dash left side of the steering wheel, the round one you push in, and another one in the console, a toggle switch at the bottom of the console. Guess one just can't be too careful.
Disconnected all the wiring to the one in the console.
Now the emergency flasher button on the left side of the dash works and makes the front turning and rear turning signals flash. Like it should be, yahoo.
However.....
With Lights on.
PASSENGER SIDE;
Head Light: OK
Tail Light: OK
Rear Turn Signal: OK
Front Turn Signal: OK
Front Parking Light: (also the turn signal) Not on.
DRIVERS SIDE;
Head Light: Not on.
Tail Light: Not on.
Rear Turn Signal: OK
Front Turn Signal: OK
Front Parking Light (also the turn signal): OK

The fuse panel in the interior, passenger side. 10th fuse down was blown. It was an 8 amp. Replaced it with another 8 amp, blew again. Looking at the wiring diagrams, it shows this should be a 30 amp fuse. Just want to be sure before I put a 30 amp fuse in it and start melting my wiring. Can someone please verify this for me....

On my car I once had one of the rear taillights, the opposite side front parking light and one of the license plate frame lights inop at teh same time. It's corresponding fuse would blow all the time.
I ended up finding a chafed wire rubbing against metal and shorting, inside the hollow area above and behind the license plate frame. I narrowed it down to this area with a volt ohmmeter.

on mine it was the cig lighter shorting out.
Absolutley great. I will check those out tomorrow, I've had enough for today.
But this is where I ended up, which makes since now that I've seen your posts.
What I have now is everything working except drivers tail light and
passengers front turn/parking light. Mind boggling.....but now I have something else to look for.

And with the help of Charlie McCall by sending me the 1980 series fuse panel diagram, it has been figured out.
When I was working with the license plate light assembly, the right electrical tab broke off. I soldered it back on put it back together and that's when things started to happen.
This morning I dropped it from the chassis and just let it hang.
Put 2 new 8 amp fuses in #9 & 10 and turned on the lights, didn't blow any fuses. Everything worked as far as lights and turn signals except the drivers head light didn't come on. Ran a bridge ground wire from the black wire to each head light and both now work. Appears I have a break in the ground somewhere in the front harness that goes across the front end. Which I'm not sure how that can be since the turning/running light ground runs through the same harness and are both working.... I'll track that down and tape up the ends of the license plate light and that should be that.

I have a 94 oldsmobile acheve and head light don't want to turn on. Only if you press the switch in the bright come on. What do you thing wrong?

If the high beam switch is on the floor, check the ground wire and clear the corrosion away.
