Broken Radiator Therm studs

I'm in the process of getting my cooling system in order. I was tearing down the radiator to get it tested and cleaned out. In getting the 2 thermostats removed I broke 2 of the studs holding one of them. Should I drill them out and use a stud remover? Thanks ahead of time for your ideas. This is a great community and I'm glad to be part of it.

Let the radiator shop give you a price to fix it before you attempt to fix it or just block off the thermostats and run the fans manually with relays like I did. I don't trust thermostats and I watch the engine temp closely when in town or in traffic. I usually keep the fans on once it heats up to 160% unless I am on the freeway without traffic.

Or ....

ask the radiator shop about replacing the OEM temp switch fittings with M22 type fittings since most replacement switches have M22 threads.

These are not studs. They are flat head screws soldered into a washer which is in turn soldered to the radiator tank. A radiator shop should be able to remove the washer assembly and install new screws and then resolder to the radiator.
