I have some seepage at the clutch slave which requires adding about 2 oz of fliud for each tank of gas burned.
I was told by the owner that I could simply take it off, hone or clean the cylinder, and get a new seal for it locally by taking the size number off the old seal.
Does this sound do-able or is it mearly a short term fix.
Will I disrupt the clutch adjustment when removing it? If so, could I just measure the exact amount of adjustment and then return it there and double check with a .40 feeler gauge at the disc?
I am comfortable working on my own cars but since this is a first with hyro clutch I don't want to blow it.
Thanks!

There are no seal kits for the master OR slave. You may be able to use parts of a FIAT kit, depending on the year of your car. Honing out rust pits is iffy; if the pits are too deep, the seals won't seal after all your work. Too late for the clutch, but the best solution is to change brake & clutch fluid yearly so the dissolved water doesn't rust out the bores. Second-best is to buy a stainess steel replacement slave cylinder, long-throw style. Then, you get a rustproof slave that disengages the clutch better than stock, which is better for the transmission synchros. Incidently, the clutch master cylinder probably also has pits; they tend to go out in lockstep, being part of the same assembly with the same contaminated fluids inside. And, it may pay dividends to drain & replace the fluid in the brakes.
Thanks Jack.
The Clutch master has been replaced with what looks like a GM Master.
I have all the records of everything replaced on the car but have only had the car since last Friday.
Gonna go thru it all today and see when the Master was replaced.
It also has specially made half shafts with 1/2 ton Chevy u-joints.
Not sure if that is a good thing or not, lol.

Where can I get the best price on a long trow stainless slave?
I check the Master Clutch reservoir every time I drive the car for now and keep it filled.
Thanks again for the advice.
I just purchased my Long throw Slave Cyl. from Pantera East. Florida. $129.00. Marino Perna is very accomidating. You can place an order over e-mail, or phone. I have always received prompt delivery. Careful when you remove the old one, I had to take Bracket and all off, as I couldn't get the c-clips off. Original part. I broke off one of the bolts. Don't ya hate that. Good Luck Karl.
