The Group IV Pantera pics are in this album even though it did show up at the concorso on Friday. There is also another Pantera up for auction. Both sold as they had no reserve. I am curious on the prices they went for as my son and I watched several of the Shelby's go for a lot less than we would have thought. There was also a Hemi Cuda that hit $275k but was a no sale as the reserve was $650k. Bidding seemed all over the board. Sign of the times I guess.

I'm thinking my favorite is that green group 4 any more pictures of that one. Love those rivited on flares that is how they are suppose to be done.

Really, those are GT5 flares.

Rich left off the running boards, and is not running the standard front spoiler either.

He is also in PCNC and I have always liked his car. Look is a bit different and just seems right.

Miles,

Russo & Steele results for the 2 Pantera's were the grabber blue '72 sold for $36K and the '74 Group 4 sold for $47K. Fall of hammer price with 6% buyers and seller commissions payable.

I was at R&S Saturday night and watched some 'no reserve' bargains pass the block, prices definitely seemed down generally. Personally I didn't like then venue, too small and cramped. I talked to some sellers who were disappointed and would be taking their cars to Scottsdale. R&M seemed to have a better set up across the street. I am waiting for their respective web sites to be updated with sales prices as it will be interesting to compare prices at the two venues.

Thanks for the prices. I agree that R&M was the better setup but they were charging $40 just to get in. With all the cars running around last weekend I couldn't justify that expense. Especially when you could see almost all of them through the fences.
FYI,

The Group 4 that sold for $47K was probably bought by the owner.

He told me that morning he had received a very high private offer for his car, and if the auction didn't meet the private offer, he would bid on the car himself and sell it off auction to the fellow who had made the private offer.

If the owner was telling me the truth, it was an outrageous price he was offered.

That doesn't surprise me, in fact nothing surprises me in the 'UnderWorld' of Auctioneering.

There was an R&S guy on the floor that kept getting mystery cell phone calls when the biding was stalling for some cars. None of his clients ever came in with the high winning bid Wink

If the Group 4 owner did buy back he had to spend at least $4,700 in commissions (4% seller commission for 'no reserve', 6% 'with rserve')to end up with his own car, so I guess it must have been some 'private offer'. I thought the car was executed reasonably well, but still needed further upgrades e.g. still had stock brakes.

In talking to a couple guys at the auction who seemed to know the circuit well the buy back game is more prevelant than I thought.
