Cruise Control

Has anyone installed an electronic cruise control lately? I have seen some posts about the Dakota. Is our speedo cable a "GM" type?

Would be nice to have on those long trips.

Owners reportedly had a bit of trouble getting cruise control to work in Panteras and Mangusas, until some genius tried clamping two sets of magnetic pickups to a ZF halfshaft instead of only one as was used on front-engined cars. But that was decades ago- maybe the current assemblies are more flexibly designed.
