Do you have a legend identifying the amp ratings of each circut on the fuse pannel for an early 71 (round door handle)? I recently installed new fans and #7 fuse keeps blowing. The fuse box cover shows this to be an 8 amp fuse, but I have the manual indicates a 30 amp fuse????

My e-mail is sparks@burnhamrealestate.com

Thanks

As you get more familiar with your Pantera, you'll find that substantially zero Panteras match any of the four (4) known wiring diaaagrams published by Ford from '71-75. In addition, the early 71 such as yours were considered "factory prototypes" and had quite a few differences from Ford-imported '71s. Pushbuttons may or may not have been changed or upgraded by other owners or by Ford dealers in the last 31 years. For instance, pushbutton cars originally had both power window switches wired to the same 15-amp fuse; each window motor pulls about 12 amps, so if you touch both switches at once, you'll use a lot of fuses.... What I suggest is to purchase or otherwise acquire a schematic and by trial & error, mark it up to match your particular Pantera. Sorry for such a sketchy answer, but this is a complicated subject.
Do a search on this post under "madguy" "fluidyne" or "Pantera1252" there has been a previous discussion about this topic. When you get to "Pantera1252" click on the email button. Allen is a good guy and he loves to talk "pushbutton". He has successfully wired his pushbutton car fans, and I am sure he will be glad to share his knowledge. I recently did mine, not a pushbutton but close (#1683), and I used the info from Mike Dailey's website (panteraplace.com).

Good Luck

The very first Panteras had both fans wired into only one fuse! Very Marginal, even with the "lesser" stock motors' lower amperage draw, that fuse would often blow. When you went to the newer fans that draw more amps the #7 fuse could no longer take it!! What you need to do is split the two fans off to their own fuse and 12 Volt supply. If you don't already have the Technical Repair Manual, with the wiring diagram; What are you waiting for?? You need to at least download it from a club site! You cannot do any rewiring work without it. Good-Luck with it, Marlin. #5723
