Fuel Pump ?

Make sure all the wires in and out of the MSD are securely attached and the Rev limiter chip on the bottom is firmly seated.

But it sounds more like a fuel pump problem.

When my MSD went south, the car wouldn't even start until it was replaced. It could be heat build up in the MSD after it's running. Is the MSD getting real hot ?

There's a chance that it could be the coil. Shows a healthy spark when tested, but then it heats-up and fails, from an intermittant break in the Primary or Secondary windings. Do you have the coil mounted to the Engine, Intake Manifold, or worse, the Head. The Coil gets Pretty Hot, on it's own, normally, with-out being mounted to the Engine. I have my coil, a Mallory Pro-Master, mounted to the Right Side Deck Lid Hinge, using the Inner Most Bolt. It's up in a Breeze! Good-Luck locating your problem, Marlin.
Mine did that when I first bought my car and it drove me crazy. I replaced the coil and it still did it. Then it left me stranded one evening, it would start for 10 seconds or so then die on me. I finally traced it to a faulty ignition switch. Just to be sure, I bought a cheapie generic one for $9.00 and put it on a metal bracket under the dash. Ran new wires to it and it's been fine for the past 3 months. I took the original one apart and cleaned it up, but have'nt put it back in yet. Just something you may want to check out.
Forgot about the coil Marlin. Very well could be.

U.S-made Busse Fuses makes a 'GBC' glass-envelope fuse with plated pointy ends that fits a stock fuse holder & solves the corrosion problem your stock fuses encountered, at pennies of cost. My GBCs went into our car in 1985 & have yet to give a problem. But you do have to carry spares since chain-store auto parts don't have them.
