Have had all my suspension on 3840 powder coated.
now its all clean I find one of the Kingpins/ uprights or front axle spindles (whatever you call them) is bent. now the thread on the spindle is Left hand so I assume it came from the left/drivers side of the car? I would like to have it repaired and invite others who may have some experience of this type of repair for advice
its a second series unit, the cost of another is a whopping $450, then I have to get it carted to England and pay the revenue men as well, so am hoping for some good news here, I imagine its a forged steel item of immense strength, see pic
(hopefully) best Peter

Peter, that front upright can be straightened. In your area, I suggest you find a race shop and tell them it's a pricey forged steel part. The piece can be cold-bent- slowly- maybe with some warming to about 350-400F followed by slow cooling to ambient. There may be some spring-back requiring two bending attempts to get it perfect. Race teams run into this situation (joke!) all the time. Failing this, Johnny Woods could probably do the straightening

If you want to be completely safe, take the straightened part to some place that does X-Ray (non-destructive testing) inspection- local airplane mechanics should know who does this. I've straightened forged steel steering arms this way and it takes a LOT of force and good control to bring things back in line without twisting them in the process.
