Fuel Tank Shield

I had a couple minutes and took a few measurements.
each divesion is 1/2"

and a photo
from their condition, I'll need a new shield too!

I think the shield has a "fireproof" membrane in between its double skin.

I found something suitable when I made my new one but you cannot get asbestos sheeting anymore.

I believe that's correct Peter.

...When I needed to create a Shield for the Reserve Tank....I just went and purchased a Large 'Cookie Sheet'. Aluminum on both sides with Insulation Material Sandwiched In-Between. Find it at any 'Kitchen' Supply. Perfect!!

It's the Same Material, Cut and Bend.

I have a brand new OEM fuel tank shield that I bought directly from the DeTomaso Factory in the late '80's. It is made of two layers of aluminum with a layer of some sort of insulation sandwiched in between. It's a bit rough and is obviously handmade, as are most post Ford era DeTomaso parts. I do not have the little metal tabs that hold it in place. $100 plus shipping and it's yours. Shipping would be from Washington State. PM me if you're interested.
