Thanks Mike, I am now back on the soap box!

Too little too late. This is just political pandering to the unions. The jobs are already lost.
And sadly millions of US manufacturing jobs have been lost because of Chinese crap for almost 2 decades. The shame and blame is on both sides of the aisle on this issue.

Trying not to purchase a product made in friggin China is now virtually impossible.

I'm with you! Friggin Impossible!

Watch what you eat! Went to buy Garlic Powder, Product of USA/CHINA!
What the hell, we grow garlic over here in Gilroy Calif.! Do we really need to send it to China first, then back to us? God knows what they do to it first?
Back to the fresh stuff!

And with all (most) of us.

If we hadn't let Wall Street convert us from people who viewed saving and buying quality products a better choice than borrowing and buying cheaper stuff for our instant gratification, then we would still be buying Magnavox televisions, Fords and Chevys, IBM computers and Kodak cameras.

But Wall Street needs profits, share holders need profits, and nobody in those groups has any sense of morals or loyalty to country.

The solution?

At this point, just sit back and wait until the dust settles. We may be left with enough to put this country back together...

Cross your fingers.

I remember 15-20 years ago Wally World had a big Made in USA slogan. My textile job left 20 years ago too. Things change ...you can bet on that..If you can figure whats next you could profit.. any ideas?
I recently ordered some Goodyear tires from Tire Rack. The rears were 295/40/18 and were made in America. The fronts were 225/45/18 were the same brand but had Made in China stamped on it. I think they should state on the website which tires are from China. I recently bought an inversion table from Sears and it was a Nortik track brand. When I opened the box everything had a made in China stamp on it. Pretty much everything from model cars to TV, aquarium supplies, and everything else I have purchased from reputable brands are made in China. In the seventies everything used to be made in Japan and everyone used to avoid it with the exception of cameras from Nikon. Now its China that is the great manufacturer of all things at a reduced price due to labor and supply costs. I think its just a matter of if you want to pay twice as much or not. It's not a guarantee that things made in the USA is going to be much better. Pretty much everything at Costco is also made in China. What is the consumer going to do?
Hey. This stuff is all about corporate greed to maximize proffits by screwing American labor and with Chinese or worse rice power.

This is Gordon Genko stuff..."greed is good".

Maybe when the rumored announcements of the big guys like Morgan-Stanley become fact that the 2009 Corporate bonuses are bigger then ever this year, as a result of the Federal bailouts, there might be some consideration for the working classes? I'm still waiting for my bailout. Who am I kidding. This is all about political power in the US.

You have to expect US politicians to suck corporate dicks to get re-election money?

Ah what's the sense of me even bringing this up. This is all Ebenezzer Scrooge "die and decrease the surplus population" crap and this time it's aimed at the US.

All we can do is vote with our dollars and don't buy the foreign crap, but I can't help but wonder if castrating CEO's would have any effect in the long run? I suspect that they know it coming eventually. Those guys don't have chauffeurs with 9mm's for nothing? Wink

Just trying to offer some black humor here. Big Grin
...nah, this tuff is too serious to be funny. Shame on me?
