It's only when I signal to the right - and the headlight goes on and off.
I assume it's in the turn indicator switch.
Anyone experienced similar issues and found a fix?

Is it just one headlight, or both headlights that are affected?
If it's just the right headlight, I would look for a ground problem.
Adding an additional ground wire to each headlight is also a good idea.

It's both headlights that cut out.
When I move the indicator arm to the right position the headlights cut out momentarily then comes back - then cuts out etc. If I put pressure on the switch arm the lights will stay on - until I ease the pressure of.

Yours might just need to have a little more tension on the contact arm, accomplished by lightly bending the contact arm.

Bill recently repaired my switch, great job and a good man to deal with 
Bill fix mine works great now
Bill fixed mine about a year ago. He is a fine fellow to deal with and his work is worth more than he charges. He gave me the hot tip for removing the turn signal switch assy. so the stearing column wont end up in your lap during removal.
