I just joined today. I just wanted to say hello and thank you guys for keeping the Pantera alive. I have a 73 that was an original Italian car. Just had the engine replaced after throwing a rod and am now repairing the frame they broke when they put the new moter in. I can't wait to get her back on the road, sprintime is here. Smiler

Thank you George. I did come here once before and asked advice on my Pantera. It was last fall. Whoever answered me it was a thrown rod, they were right. This winter I had to get a new rebuilt motor. Now they broke the frame putting it in, so I am going to try and fix that myself. I let my wife talk me in to having the work done, and it did get done sooner, but I don't think they respected the car enough while they worked on it. Frowner
I just was very entertained reading what you guys talked about and thought I would join in on the conversation.

Congrats. You have a nice car.

thanks a million, I apreciate the complement, but compared to some of the cars I see on this site, well I feel plum inferior. Big Grin
I am thinking of making this my new web home I like it here so much. But that is probably because I am reading up on a lot of old threads. What I like best is the Pantera stories people tell. I might even write a few myself later on. Smiler
No need to feel inferior with ANY Pantera! You are part of a very exclusive clan.

All Panteras started out pretty much the same... stock. With some time, effort, and imagination, yours too will be worlds away from what it is now. The great thing about Panteras is that no two are modified the same, so yours is a one of a kind!

Thanks CYBOMAN. I appreciate your comments. I bought my car back in 97 and I haven't done anything to the apperance. It was all I could do just keeping it on the road. This last fall I blew up the original motor and have a brand new one in there now. Much of my neglect of my car has been because of child rearing, which is almost over now. Once they finish college and move away from home, dad is going to go through with a fine tooth comb and get everything the way I want it.
I have seen some of these cars with six and eight hundred horsepower and hundreds of thousand of dollars sunk in to them. Although I am envious of those cars, that is just not me. I want to get my car to where it becomes the most reliable Pantera in the history of the world. Roll Eyes Then I will get me a funny Italian hat and drive around the country side pretending I am from Italy and don't speak english and took a wrong turn a turin somewhere. Big Grin
Anyway the new motor will go a long way to making that a reality. I now longer have to mix octane boost at every fill up, No more will the starter not turn over because the engine got hot. No sir, those days are gone. The easy life for me from now on. Smiler
