Dan, open your Microsoft Photo Editor, click on 'File', then click on 'Save As', now in that new window, click on the 'More' box, you will see: JPEG quality factor (1-100), proceed on moving the cursor to your left for a smaller file/lower quality JPEG and save your new pic with a new file name so you don't over-write your original format file. Your pic will be smaller.
Shrink the size of your photos images so they are no wider than 640 pixels, or maybe 700 pixels at most. Somewhere in that size range. This insures they fit on everybody's monitors. Make sure the image is stored as a jpeg file. A jpeg file that is 700 pixels wide & about 1000 pixels tall is less that 200 mb. This is assuming your data is reduced to 72 dpi, which is the max dpi for the internet or your computer monitor.
