Forgot I had these. Almost makes me want to buy another Pantera just to use them... They just don't fit my BMW's or the MBZ.

From my 1972 Pre L. Still brand spankin' new. Put them on and then decided to lower my car.

Completely rebuilt by Pro Parts here in SoCal. They do race prep and are only 1 of 2 authorized Koni distributor/rebuilders in the USA. All receipts and shock graphs.

Disassembled and completely gone thru. Every part. Painted Koni Orange with the correct Koni triangular label. Poly bushings top and bottom.

I spent $300 for the set (non-leaking in unreal condition) > $729 for the Koni rebuild > $100 to powdercoat the springs > $126 to polish the steel components > $50 for the poly bushings > $1305 total.

$1100 plus shipping to?

The Konis are lounging in the garage. Reminded I want to sell them as I get PM'd every few months with another lowball offer.

I would rather trade them for anything "2nd Amendment" (Firearm-Ammo) but would sell for $$$ too. Maybe I'll just get a Pantera with stock 15" wheels just to put them on...nah...

Thanks for looking, Dave

Hey there,

You do realize that this could cost a small fortune to ship to Belgium?!?! I am not opposed to selling out of the US; but don't want to waste time packing, weighing, investigating how to, quoting prices, if you are more budget minded? Do you have a FedX-DHL account? Do you another preferred method of shipment? Any restrictions shipping from here to there?

Best, Dave

Hallo,

i will check here with DHL. You make a nice package of it Big Grin
Can't be that problem or cost ? i have already bought so many parts from the USA as for example from 928Motorsports for my track 928... alot more then 4 Konis , in weight and volume ! Or even wheels from CCW ... and those are BIG boxes Smiler
don't think there are restrictions, Belgium is not at war with the US Big Grin Big Grin .. or i don't know Confused

Well here's the pre-lim info re shipping the Konis to you. Of course I would re-confirm more exacting info as we proceed.

$ 1100 + $ 577 + Receive International Wire Fee $ 25 = $ 1702 prox.

Do you have a better shipment method you can pre-pay or?

perhaps a litlle explenation as why i buy those :

in Belgium we have a once,on new owner, tech inspection for + 25 years old cars , called "oldtimers".You keep that as long as you own the car.Once selling you need a new inspection. There is "talked about" to change that into a obligate annual inspecton as our daily cars...and tuning is forbitten as far "THEY" know.... On my "Oldtimer" inspection with the GT5S they had one remark for the adjustable suspension ( Intrax racing )

and let it pass , even asking if i could proof it beeing original with documents !

So for me it's just a Insurance for the future, if tech inspection demands it, i will be ready ! Big Grin

That is so F... wrong! They should be able to prove you those parts are not original/illegal in the first place.

That said, I don't think they will that easily change the current oldtimer inspection laws (technical wise then), because if they would, I guess half of the cars now in use as oldtimer, would become at least partly, if not as a whole completely illegal.

Wouldn't mind an annual inspection though, as long that would be with the benefit of safety in mind, but not looking forward to a ridiculous hunt for "illegal" parts...
wouldn't surprize me if they do it one day ! I have for years oldtimers and every year they become more stringent with the tech inspection...lately they told me it is forbitten to "tune" oldtimers , so they search for non original parts ! My GT5S was not approved because steel brake lines in the front and a big discussion about the adjustable coilovers...OK, i got it right this time with only new brake lines....but what's next ?
If it comes that far we will have a week work before inspection and a week after Big Grin

KID, no panic, i rent you my OEM schocks Wink

and yes, alot of oldtimers would not be worth the cost to rebuild to OEM... if you already find the parts ! i'm afraid it's coming, they enlarged the use , now we may drive in the week, day and night, no restriction on distance etc.... what do you think will follow ? Our insurance companys will demand it, which is understandeble, how can a car participate in daily traffic that was inspected "20" years ago ? Confused

The group making it worse are the ones with +25 year old wreck diesels, not for the love of the car , but to get it as cheap as possible. They will ruin our hobby....watch my words ....and i don't have to tell you what group that is ...
Norbert, Thank you for your reply.

I will be shipping these complete (2 per carton-2 cartons total) via UPS Worldwide Expedited Insured to your address as given once funds ($1702.00 USD) are confirmed received @ my Bank.

The KONIs are SOLD “AS IS > WHERE IS” and it’s my pleasure to assist with shipment to you from the US. However; I take NO responsibility for the safe arrival, delivered condition, additional hoops and any/all additional expenses you may incur upon arrival in Belgium. You will be responsible for any/all additional “whatever” your Country will impose upon receipt.

I had a recent customer here from Orange County and she turned to me one day and said "California is ruined by all of you New Yorkers!"

I said" "I have nothing to do with it. Never even been there".

She recently went back. I think she found no sympathy here?
Belgiumbarry, sorry to hear about your problems with tech inspection. It used to be like that in Denmark, but no more. Why? Rules are the same. So what changed? Simply it used to be a government inspection, now privateers can do, and for some strange reason, the privateers are a lot more human than the public "servants" we had to go to before.
oh, i know the problems and live with them Big Grin
With my '82 Porsche i had to return because the new tires were to wide , even still running completely inside the OEM fenders.... i returned with the slick worn originals and got approved as they only were pinned to the measure Roll Eyes
On my Viper they had a meeting with all the personel to found out my suspension was not Original ...same story as with the Pantera, luckly now there was somebody who give me the advantage of doubt Smiler
My army jeep Willys '52 was disapproved because they couldn't find the chassis # somewhere stamped in the chassis....i bought that car from the Belgian army with all documents !
And so on ,no E casting in the headlights glass, no fog light...
What i do know , and seen already many others fail, is the batterie must be fixed mounted...alot of oldtimers have them loose in the box !also in my Pantera .
On my '70 BMW CS it was the first thing they tryed , wiggling the batterie .... and i was laughing showing them the new clamping device , as , indeed i bought the car missing that piece Wink
Government does not belong making decisions on things like this.
Here in NY, the inspection stations are independent owners. Most of them just want your business in the future and for $37.50 are just going to do the minimum and fastest inspection they can.
Usually I expect to be in and out in about 20 minutes but you need to call ahead first.

Time and cost is relative here...it's what they do ! to avoid as many pricked holes you can... we still call it that way , before computers toke over, it was with cards and for every bad point there was a bite in it Frowner
So , if you could see trought your paper , you had alot of work to do ! Big Grin

Now it's a green ( OK ) paper or red ( not OK )

last time there was a old man before me ( i'm also old , but he was alot older ) ... he got red at the counter. Have they changed colors ? he asked... no, said the lady , your car has a malfunction. Oh, he replyed, can't they fix it while i'm here now ? Big Grin Big Grin
perhaps some usefull info for other europ buyers... the money came back on my account because it couldn't be appointed to Dave !
Reason is a name and all his bank info isn't enough... there must also be his full adress... took 2 weeks to see that now and know.
So we gonne try a second time Wink

sorry for the delay Dave, seems new laws !
NOT SO GOOD NEWS. Finally received Norbert's $$$ yesterday. What an ordeal just to get to this point. So today I went to ship the "Bulletproof" 2 packages and was shocked that the shipping costs quoted per the UPS Website and my local UPS Store were both misleading and incorrect!

Not only did we spend 2 1/2 weeks waiting for $$$ to arrive now this shipping drama. I cannot support shipping costs beyond what I provided as being accurate to my best efforts. I'm just trying to help a brotha' out; I'm not UPS.

Selling overseas is not an EZ task and I can see why people don't and why I did not agree to it 2x's prior with these shocks. Strike 3...

I have notified Norbert in detail re sending $$$ back. Many thanks to him for being a gentleman.

Best, Dave
Ok Dave, i reply with all info.
Just for info on forum, I i was not lowballing , i payed you ,without question, what you asked me , the 1702 $. So i want to feel clear in this deal and not get some suspission.
You decide ofcourse now to not get it done because of your false info on shipment costs, which is your total right .
On the other hand you did not propose me a extra payment for the additionial shipment ?
i , understand you, you are even with those Konis, you want to be buried whith them Confused Smiler

best regards
Norbert
To be perfectly clear:

Lowball offers were all from my fellow "USA Pantera brotha's."

I did offer info on the real shipping costs (in my email explaining what was what). I just simply do not want to spend any additional time with this. This became a PIA time and effort wise simply to try and help someone out. Money was/is not the motivating factor as I was selling them for less than I had into them. Go find a set of vintage Konis and restore them with Koni and see what it costs today, if they will even do it? I would sell them but not with this degree of difficulty. My decision, my prerogative, period.

Norbert, Thank you for being polite, professional, a pleasure to deal with, a gentleman, etc.

That's, that...
No more drama but still not over...

Scott; what a great offer to help and I'm surprised you stepped up to the plate (messy as it is...).

Norbert I emailed you the particulars for your decision.

Now for the legal stuff: Scott is just helping Norbert. He is NOT RESPONSIBLE for anything. Once I ship to Scott I'm out; don't wanna hear about success or failure. Yes, it would have been easier to sell to anyone here in the US. Or simply put the KONIs on my 6 series.

Dave,
i send you email confirming to proceed and send the schocks to Scott. Also the wish if there is any $$$ left over to give them to Scott for his work/kindness in this.
And , nobody is reponsible for succes or failure, i am.

@Scott: Thank you very much for your help with this !!!

@Dave : they won't fit your 6 , neither will they do on mine Smiler I had just the same for 4 years but sold the 650 due crazy new taxes here in Belgium on CO emissions...Bought it new for 100.000 € and 4 years later and 100k kilometers had to do my best getting it sold for 25.000 € ! so that was a expensive car .... if governement needs money , they Always find a way ! Mad
