I am looking to replace the Hall dressup kit that is on the car. I want to get an intake that will work for low grunt. I currently have the torquer and a 600 CFM carb...

What should I get?

I see that PI sells a 4150 with all the fixins for ~650 and I can also buy a manifold from them. I am not sure what to get. The car is for street use with some moderate track events. Nothing too nutz.

Suggestions?

During the last few club dyno tests, a quick survey shows that the Edelbrock Performer was the most popular intake, and made as much or more power than the open-plenum manifolds. For around-town driving & light track stuff, a 600 vac-sec carb is goof-proof outa the box & a joy to drive. A 750 vac-sec will give 30+ more horses, will be a little lazier on the throttle & will reduce gas mileage by 2-4mpg. Any double-pumper will be worse in terms of mileage and may not give more power unless its rejetted for your particular engine, on a dyno that loads the engine. Be wary of any 'emissions-legal' carb; they are always set dangerously lean & are usually untune-able.
