Okay everyone.........
What in #@$%^&& is up with MME!!!

Help, 10 months later they have not started, its always something, yes, they have had my 4k deposit for 10 mo. I do not want a bash session, I want some input, and advice, spring is here I WANT MY ENGINE. Or am I small fries at Mcdonalds.
Many of you speak highly of them, you probably dont want to hear the details,if you do I will provide info on a private discussion.
George, I know you have fun teasing (slamming ) Ferrari's, but ferrari techs have always treated me straight up...it is what it is and this is what you get. No BS.

I'm with Mark! I know nothing about MME engines so I can't say and anything good OR bad about them! BUT...
I believe I get my 4K, back in my pocket. There are many good engine builders round! Unless you ordered a 40K engine 4K for a down payment seems high to me. That said, I have never ordered a engine! Maybe thats the way it's done? I would think a reputable builder wouldn't ask for more then 10% down, and give you a reasonable time line? If they couldn't I might find a builder that could!

I've seen several engine builders ask for 50% down to cover their out of pocket cost to purchase the necessary parts and machine work. It allows them to get something back for their labor if the customer flakes and doesn't pay for the rest of the build. Then again, when someone puts 50% down, they don't usually walk away from it.

FWIW - My brother bought a nicely rebuilt Pantera engine from a local builder for his 70 Mach 1 a number of years ago because the customer failed to pay for it and pick it up. I'll have to check if there's an engine number on the heads still.
Daniel they don't have Clevelands as far as I know. Most of their engines are Windsor based.
I have the 427R engine and other than a few modifications like headers, flywheel, water lines its a pretty simple swap. I have the nice original Cleveland protected for the next care taker of 1306 if they want it.

Your deposit doesn't sound unreasonable, however the time you have been waiting is.

Not sure of contact info but try Russ Fulp here in So. California many people happy with his Clevelands.
Daniel,

Sorry to hear your woes with MME, they should definitely give yoru deposit back. Boy am I glad I went a different route, it could easily have been me too.

Chris, are you sure you worded your post correctly? I thought you had issues with MME and you would use them again??

I did business with MME ONCE, suffice it to say that I would do business with them a second time.
Nothing gets done in 3 weeks with engine builders, but 10 months is ridiculous. Get your money back and get to someone else before the spring rush.
I planned on using MME on my next build, but you're the second Pantera guy I know that is not happy. I'll definately go elsewhere.
I know people get busy. But if you can't do the job, then don't make promises.
OR... he's making tons of cash and doesn't give a hoot.
George, perhaps you can relay this to him?
