New Pressure tank??

I just bought a used overflow tank off e-bay for $20.00.Not sure if I need it or not, but bought it for back up.

I believe some of the vendors will sell you a cleaned up and powder coated used tank, while taking your's as an exchange. Mike Cook used to do that. I have such a tank that I ran for awhile. The nipple for the hose came loose on mine and I have since gone to the SS tanks. If you are interested in mine, let me know.

be careful with a used tank. I took mine off the car when I went stainless, I picked them up to move them and the bottom had rusted through!! They had been in clean, dry storage for about 4-5 years and the bottom had several pinholes in it.

Actually, what I was looking for is a new tank, with an American style neck to accept an American cap, but I don't care if it's polished SS. I actually would rather have a black, stock looking tank.. Guess I get to paint a polished SS tank semi gloss black...

I bought 2 replacement tanks (pressure and overflow) from the sponsor of this board. Standard american caps, polished and brand new!! $200 (ea) plus shipping--not a bad investment in something so important.

Check the various vendors, you may be surprised at what you find. P7367 says 200 each for the polished ones from PI. Wilkonson shows a pressure tank that looks like it is probably a factory tank for $613.00!!!!

The expansion tank is over $400!!

I think you would be better off buying stainless, which will never corrode and powder coat it if you want it black.

You could always take a factory tank and have a radiator shop fit an American style neck to it. That's if you want to stay factory correct.

Or, like you've decided, you can place aftermarket tanks on your Pantera and paint them black.

Powdercoating may melt the solder if you have a new neck put on.

Why would you powdercoat a NOS factory tank?
