All cars on BaT stall until the last couple of hours of the auction but agreed economically this is nothing more than a parts car. Unfortunately, many cars like this get purchased and repaired poorly before passing on to an unsuspecting new owner.

This repair is just another day at the office for us. We'll re-cap it, two used doors, used roof & glass. That's why we keep parts cars in stock. Once we cut the front off we do the frame up. Fit a used front cap, roof, hang the doors then glass. When we get done with it only the 'hairdresser will know for sure' it was ever wrecked.  We've done worse hits than this. Actually 'T' Boned cars are a lot more work. Roll-overs are less work. We've done 'em all. This one, however, carries a Salvage title but keep in mind a lot of buyers don't care about that. They're not buying with the intention to sell it. We custom build it their way. Modern steering, wheels, brakes, cold A/C, leather, tunes, 180's, stacks, dropped floors, fav colors etc., lots of HP or a Dart engine, many flavors available when building a car from this. People find this feature attractive. We've sold two cars so far this month, both buyers have radically different ideas of mods they want done. As an aside we find 'average buyers' are in their late 30's these days.

Quite a lot of photos at the BAT listing. Sadly, due to reflections and overhead lights it is very difficult to ascertain the full extent of how badly this car was tweaked.

to fix it correctly will be a major and expensive project, but of course anything can be done. Whether it can be done to make it economically feasible is a different question; comes down to a question of money versus your love for the car

Anything can be repaired with time and money, the question to Sharkey is what the repair bill would be? I can't believe this can be done at shop rates economically with the result being worth more than the investment.

Another fully documented restored Pantera on BaT only bid to $83k and had a low reserve of $90k, I doubt one could purchase and fix the red car for that total cost, and you could be driving tomorrow vs. waiting a couple years for a shop to turn it around.

Given some of the auction comments I suspect it will be parted out. Once one starts adding up the individual parts there's some margin there and still some good sheet metal. If I was retired and wanted a side project I'd take parting it out on for the cost.

Edit: I contacted the buyer as I'm in need of a left rear fender if he was parting out, he says he's reselling as a roller less engine & trans and listing on eBay for $25k!

Full rebuild with low miles $4000-$6000

fresh stroker, IR fuel injection, twin turbo, all aluminum stroker $6000-$15,000

If you had asked what the cost of having a new Cleveland built, then the range would have been $10,000-$25,000.

If you do all your own grunt work, haul pieces to the machine shop as needed. Find some used 30 over pistons, a used Edelbrock and rebuilt Holly perhaps $3000 on the low end
