I have successfully removed the pedal box to replace the front carpet. Since I have it out, beside cleaning should I be lubing the pedal shaft bushings? If so how do I get the pedals off the shaft. There appears to be a pin comprised of an inner and outer pieces. Does it simply just get knocked out? And is install knocking it back in, or is it a one time use pin? Thanks, Shashi

A pic or two would help us see what exactly you're referring to.
Perhaps Larry's thread on the clevis pin for the clutch will have some useful info for you.
I am curious, what type of pins were they (I guess the outer is a slotted spring and the inner is a solid)?
Thanks. Yes that is the pin. I will knock them out with a punch. When I get around to it will take some pics.
In Europe we call them mecanindus pins, very common in mechanical assemblies. In the US?????
I've seen them quite a bit. Just not the use of a spring pin inside a spring pin, but apperantly a common application for heavy load applications.
as long as not damaged and still has "Spring" fit, re using should not be a problem
should not be a problem to get replacements though
Double spring pins are common in the US too.
