I just recently finished replacing the temperature sender on the front of the engine block (it had previously been relocated there from the tank). Using the advice of previous posts, I used Kragens #TS-58 and confirmed that it was working via a cup of very hot water. Unfortunately, now the car won't start. The battery is at full charge, the starter turns vigorously, and there is definitely fuel going to the carb. But...the electric choke on the Holley carb won't set and the automatic radiator fan doesn't turn on with the ignition key (it will activate using the manual switch). The only things I touched during the install were the alternator arm (I moved it out of the way to get to the sender more easily), the water temp gauge, and the sender itself. None of the fuses are blown. What could I have inadvertently reset during this process? Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

...it's hard to tell from this distance; if you know you have fuel and the Engine is turning over, but will not start, It HAS to be the Spark! You didn't say if you had checked this; and check it AT THE plug or plug end of the spark plug wire. Also, fuses can 'look' OK, and be blown, they should be tested, to make sure. Also! The fuses' copper CONTACT blades must be clean and provide proper 'pressure' to the fuse ends. You may have unknowingly/accidentally disconnected the the Distributor, it's grounding, or the coil High Tension Cable, at the coil or the dist. cap. Check for 12 Volts Positive AT the Distributor. And NO power for the Electric Choke. It would be the greatest coincidence if the Ignition Switch decided to burn out a contact at this very moment. Best of luck with it! Marlin.

Thanks Marlin. I did check each fuse for continuity. Unless there is a random fuse somewhere I haven't found, the fuses are good. I didn't check the spark yet because I became focused on the two thermally related events (the choke not setting and the fan not turning on). The car has electronic ignition so now I am thinking I might have done something to the ignition system since those two thermal sensors seem to be tied into it.
