Question about Pantera Concours.....

Most of our cars would never see beyond the parking lot at Pebble Beach. But a lot of the concours shows nowadays use the term to describe a car show of exceptional cars. They usually benefit some local charity or non-profit, and they want cars that will bring in the people.

Trophy or not, showing your car is a great way to spend the day, talk about your favorite car, and in my case, flush out owners with dusty, garage queens that haven't driven in ten or more years. I have one here in Fresno that is on the way to rebirth, and am close to getting another started that direction.

My advice - take a good photograph, send it in with your application and go have some fun if they let you in

Thanks, actually it was just a question. I have no desire anymore to enter any show 'competition'. I've sworn off it. LOL. I actually swore off it 2 years ago, and the first show I attended ( I do 4-5 a summer) I paid my money to enter the car, parked, but never filled out the registration card and did not put the judging sheet inside the windshield. I had a great time with my friends and meeting people of similar interests, wonderful show. Well, they were getting ready to present the awards for the 30 or so classes and I'd had enough fun for the day, so I get in the car (not this Pantera), started it up and preceeded to leave. A guy comes running over and tells me I can't leave, that I really need to stay. So I did, but not sure why. Long story short, they awarded the car Best of Show, so I got another one of those 4 foot trophys to load in the car.. At this stage of my life I simply enjoy being at the shows, enjoying the people and the cars, not the competition aspect. Just being there for me is winning. Take care.. John
