Group, After my post yesterday about not being able to get in touch with RBT for over a week, I did a bit of research and came across the GT40 group. Those guys have quite a few posts about problems with RBT and never getting their gearboxes. I talked with Lloyd on 9/27/2007, my gearbox shipped to him the next day, and was promised a 5 week turn around. I have not heard from him since!! At this point I am wondering if it best to cut my losses in shipping and try and recover my gearbox. Does anyone know a way to contact Lloyd? Is anyone else in my situation?

Hey Toby,
Maybe some of our west coast California brothers can help us Chicago guys out. All of our info is second and third hand. It's difficult for us here with no real Pantera vendors around for thousands of miles. If it wasn't for this board and the internet, we probably couldn't keep our cars running. Everything I've heard about the transaxle situation is horrible. Vince
If you search the archives on this board you'll find a long thread about the delays folks were having with RBT over the summer. Lloyd was going through a difficult time personally, and at the same time had a tremendous backlog of work. I believe he's all caught up now and turning around gearboxes pretty quickly. A good friend just got his ZF back last week within the estimated timeframe he had been given.

So, no need to worry at this point. I've heard it said that the best way to reach Lloyd if it's urgent is to send him a fax.
Toby if you have no luck contacting Loyd in the next week. I will drive down and check on the situation for you. I have been very happy with RBT work in the past and based on my dealings with Lloyd I don't think he is the type of guy that you should worry about not getting your job done and back to you.

However with that said he has been known to be out of the shop for week or more at a time. vaction, out of town work, travel, ???

I finally got through to Lloyd!!!! My gearbox is disassembled and waiting for the return of the polished case. I informed Lloyd that it has now been 12 weeks and I was originally told 4-5 weeks. He was apologetic and said he would give me a ring as soon as he got in touch with the polishing shop. I guess the good news is my gearbox is not lost forever, but bad news is it doesn't look like I will have it back anytime in the near future. No Xmas present for me.
