These are called pretty bars...because they're pretty and don't work.
You want are brace that goes right to the ends of the openings where they get bolted or else they don't support the wheelhouses.
I'll try to find a picture of one. My 72 had the proper brace. Joseph has one he made that is correct. Mark C has a pic of Joseph's engine.
Mark?

They seem to have a good product line with lower prices than the other venders. has anybody delt with them?

The owner is Mark Johnson, a heck of very nice guy.

He is the machinist that solved the billet gas cap problem in the last couple of months.

He IS the source for the items sold by the vendors. The vendors add their markup and you pay the middleman.

Mark is more than happy to sell direct any of the parts he supplies to the vendors. He is a one man shop so if he doesn't have one on the shelf, it may take a bit. But the money saved makes any wait well worthwhile.

I recently bought the rear sway bar - deTomaso center plaque combo piece from him for $100 less than one of the vendors sells it.

They would only not work, if the bolts were not tight and there was movement between the bar and the chassis. If it is all tight it will support the chassis.

Larry. That thing is gorgeous. Does it illuminate some how? Wink
Will,
I see your point, was the one David shows made locally or is there a supplier? also if we could get Mark Johnson to fill this area as the one in Davids picture then we would have the best of both worlds!
Will is right the small 8mm x 1.25 x 60 is not up to the task, I just replaced them, the old ones were 1/4 sheared, and the holes are wollerd out. If we use what Will is suggesting with a slotted hole, this will take up variations with the different diamensions betweeen Pantera's, take the side load off the bolts & prevent the wheel wells from taco'ing together, especially during flight operation's!
Gent's I am a Machinist in Heavy Industry and like you I've bought exspensive parts that either did not work, fit or were just poor quality, only to have to take them and put a lot of time into them to get them to function properly or just send the parts back and pay shipping both way's. Who needs that.
I have sent an e-mail to Mark and will talk to him about this and see what we can come up with!
If Mark Johnson will accomadate use lets use him.

Mark
