I have replaced switches twice with new ones that last all of one day to one week. When I pull switch out of its little bay and squeeze the leads together, I can get the window up and down. It was recommended to me to see a guy in Northridge who does auto electric services who can replace these with auto up and down switches. I have not had time to get to see him yet, but will try and do so next week. I'll let everyone know the result.
A year ago both of my window switches bit the dust within a week of each other. No problem i will use the handy dandy DeTomaso hand tool to crank them down.... doesn't work because both plastic window gears are broken... old plastic breaks easily. Next step replace the gears with with new brass ones...done. Ordered new switches from Bosch... they don't fit in the opening, iam not going to try and make them fit. Many phone calls later lead me to Collectors Choice in Wisconsin , a Pantera vendor from the past. They said they would rebuild them at a $150.00 a piece!!!! More phone calls... I got lucky and found two NOS switches from Pantera Performance in Colorado. If you are not concerned with originality Bosch switches are the way to go. Rebuilding 35 year old plastic... i hope it works, i still have my old ones. I was told Panteras do not have a bypass relay for the window switches. Therefore when your window is all they way up or all the down do not keep pressure on the switch or you will burn out the contacts.

The same window motor loads the rocker switches switches see are another of the high current draws that pass through the ignition switch.

I unloaded mine with a window relay circuit. I use the original fuses but feed them from another source. I hung the relays where my starter interlock box used to live.

The design makes it possible to use only four much smaller wires in the harness down to the switches. Much easier to install on the backside of the switches.

I also made it so that the windows operate with the key at the accessory (first click) position.

The stock windows now actually do work a little faster, but I think I'm still going to try the Taurus motor upgrade.

I'll share my relay circuit if anyone is interested.
