I am thinking of giving my campagnolos a bit of a rest and i am looking into purchasing a set of clones for my gt5. The problem i have is cant decide on either going 18s allround or 18s on the rear and 17s on the front.I spoke to lalso today and he recomended importing them rather than getting them made as he did.I need to know which vendor will be most helpfull as i need to get it right the first time as i live just a little to far to be able to adjust them. Looking through the forums i like the look panther from germany has.Does anybody know the set up he has?

Regarding sizing of the wheels, its most important to make the tire outer diameter compliment the wheel well. If there is a significant difference in diameter between the front and rear tires, the wheel size can be staggered to emphasize this difference.

The narrow body Panteras have approximately a 25 inch OD front tire, and a 27 inch OD rear tire as they came from the factory. The wheel wells of the narrow body Pantera are arched to compliment this difference. So I installed 18 inch front wheels and 20 inch rear wheels with great success.

Laslo's wheels were also staggered 2 inches, and were designed to fit a specific tire combination. The Group 4 wheel wells of Laslo's car were most likely designed for a staggered tire diameter, or Lazlo modified them to fit his selected tires properly.

The GT5 & GT5-S were equipped from the factory with 24.5 inch diameter front tires and 25 inch diameter rear tires. that's not much difference in front and back diameters. so my advice is do not stagger the diameters of your wheels front to back. Also, choose your tires carefully to keep the diameters around 25 inches, so they will look proper in your GT5 wheel wells.
