It would be a sad thing if I were to care about opinions about my car, let alone opinions of people I don't even know (I know very few people of this forum in person), and neither should all of you!

Your car is yours, and the money spend on it is yours, so do the things with/to it you feel like doing, and don't care a bit about what other people think of that!!!

Like it or not, the Ring Brother's Pantera has probably gotten more exposure and press than any other Pantera in history. It's not a coincidence that Pantera prices began their upward climb just after the RB Pantera was unveiled at SEMA in 2013, where it won the Best of Show award, as well as a bunch of other awards. Keep in mind, the RB Pantera was built as a show car. It was built to get attention and show off their fabrication skills. They succeeded. They could have built another kind of car for their SEMA build but they chose a Pantera. It's a good thing they did and we have all benefited. Not in any article, interview or video about the car did I ever read or hear the word "overheating". It's like the page has turned...finally. They also decided to sell it at the biggest televised auction, for even more good press. Oh, and thank goodness Richard Rawlings bought it because the public will likely get to see it a couple more times on TV.

There are times when opinions should be offered on a forum such as this but these should be kept to informed opinions on topics where it's appropriate. Subjective opinions should only be offered when they're asked for. People who post unsolicited negative, subjective opinions usually just come across as insecure and unsophisticated.
Okay to all of that, but PLEASE that Ring Brothers thing had nothing to do with Pantera prices rising. It started before that, and there are allot of other exotics on the rise too.

Car collecting, driving and restoring is a passionate endeavor, opinions will fly. In addition, there is a big difference between a solo member moding his car to his liking, which I agree, keep negative comments to yourself. But a company like Ring Brothers re-manufacturing the brand to something unrecognizable? I'm not the least bit concerned about offending, or making whatever comment I like.

I don't think you should have to walk on egg shells to that extent.

Mutual respect between members is expected. Off-handed comments intended to make someone else look bad publicly are not acceptable. If two members are not getting along, please settle your differences privately. Please do not muddy-up the forums (and don't hijack a thread) by airing (and usually escalating) your differences publicly.

If a new member is used to a different code of conduct on other forums our code of conduct here may take some getting used to. Nobody is perfect, we all have errors in judgment from time to time. I'm very guilty myself. I've written people privately and apologized for things I've written on a bunch of occasions. I'm sure I'll have to in the future. I'm not asking anyone to do anything I haven't done myself.

Don't assume who reads or doesn't read these forums. Its far more people than the 200 or so active members who post regularly. The forums had over 900,000 page views last month. You'd be surprised who is looking in on us.

I'm going to do some pruning (not editing, but pruning) so please don't take it personally if I prune something you've written.

And lets stay on Lazlo's topic, the Ring Brothers Pantera.
