seat tracks

Hello Jack;
I'm the proud owner of #2148 which I just bought. This is my third one since '72. I posted a question earlier on the seat tracks. Seems I can't get close enough to the pedals on this one. I started to remove the driver seat by removing the tracks from the floor. It's a pain, but I think I can get that done. If I use the 17 3/4" tracks rather than the installed 14 3/4" tracks, will that give me the extra couple of inches I need? Do they use the same holes? I know this ain't rocket science, but I'd really love to drive the car comfortably. rudy123395@cs.com Thanks

Sounds reasonable if that's what it takes.I'm just wondering why does this car need modifications for you where your other two didn't? mmmmmmmm.....
Does this car have lowered floor pans maybe?
Stock or aftermarket seats?
Anyway,whatever it takes (except for taping blocks on the pedals!) to reach the pedals would be a justified mod IMHO.
