Where did you set the internal threads on the knob?

The laser cutter is neat. Would love one of those.
One thing that Auger is correct on I think is using Delrin. It is never hot or cold. Think about that after parking you car in the sun in Phoenix in the summer.
With the winter we are going through here now, my hand would instantly freeze to that aluminum knob if I didn't have a glove on.
Like your tongue freezes to metal outside in the winter.
Some mornings it's been -10 to -15 F. That's pretty cold for us. No freezing your hand to the Delrin.
Fatter is better on the knob for me. I had to try two diameters. The first one was too thin.

Well try that to see if you feel it in your hand. I do. I like the knob smooth.
Cosmetically yup the medallion is the way to go but form follows function and if it is smoother then it works better therefore is more beautiful?
