Tach wire tap in

The tach wire does pass by the fuse panel, but you will have to cut into the wire loom to find it.

Thanks but instead I do see under the dash near the tach where the wires from the tach come to a plastic red colored disconnect. I think I can at least track the wire from the back of the tach to the red colored disconnect and tap in at the disconnect. I just want to make sure I select the correct wire from the tach that goes into the disconnect. I'm going to try that. Otherwise I'll have to try to contort myself under the dash to try to pull the wire from the tach. No Bueno.

I did mine at the tach. It's easier if the seat is out. I'm in fair oaks and can help if you need it. Pm me if you want help.

Another thought would be to pull the spade connector from the red connector. I think I might have some extra spade terminals that I got from Jon Haas. We could double up the wires in the spade and put it back in the connector. Man, now I might have to redo mine.

Just to end the post string, I was able to tap into the tach wire at the back of the tach, but if you ever have to do it this way it's literally a pain in the neck and back to get there. Used long needle nose pliers to disconnect and connect the connector.

By the way it was a little easier if you take the light bulb connection out of the socket at the bottom of the tach gauge. That way the pliers will fit fairly straight up to the connection.

Lesson learned.
