Does anyone know if there is some type of temp gauge light or buzzer setup available where you would be warned via a small light or buzzer if your water temp was reaching a critical level? I would think that a sudden loss of water (maybe through a broken hose or hose clamp) wouldn't give much warning unless you are watching your water temp every minute or less. I just had a small leak from a hose that was not double clamped under my car, and if this had let loose, I suspect I could have dumped water from the system and fried my aluminum heads and other things, like my wallet.

I like Jack's solution, for the idiot light, as I like to drive the car and not worry about checking the water guage every minute for some mishap that could easily dump your coolant before you notice it. I suspect the part is probably under $10 or so, compared to the cost of fried heads, cracked block, or something.

Mark, is your pressure light idea a comon thing also, like the temp guage that Jack mentions?
At Summit Racing, for $79. you may purchase a Red L.E.D. Digital readout Water Temp. Gauge. The gauge (2 1/16") is PROGRAMABLE to switch on the relay(s) for radiator cooling fans, could also be used for an "Idiot Light", simultaniously. This gauge could also be programmed to monitor, and react to, Engine oil temps. Coolant temps (at the bottle, radiator, block, etc. using a rotary switch and multiple senders! Just like in the Heliocopters. I did this in a T.A. I owned once.) Transaxle oil temps., Intake temps. Etc. Marlin.
