Hello Danny,

welcome to the DeTomaso Internet Community (aka DTIC). Glad to have you with us.

I think your car is perfect just as it is. Its not too pale, not too dark, its not orange-ish like school bus yellow. It reminds me of a Lamborghini yellow.

Yellow was Alejandro DeTomaso's favorite Pantera color. The first Pantera was yellow.

I have a couple of ideas for you. Play with this picture in photoshop, experiment with different accents, and trim. If you don't have photoshop, then print several copies of this picture and experiment with marking pens.

You can also look at all of the Pantera pictures that are available on-line, such as at the Pantera International web site, under the tab "feature stories":

perhaps you'll find one picture that will grab you just right and make you say, that's it! Or perhaps you'll come up with something unique, and you'll be the inspiration for someone else in the future. Or perhaps your cars classic look will grow on you. Isn't it great that you can personalize the Pantera without feeling guilty?

take care, George

Don't do it! It's perfect just the way it is. And a car as good looking as your Pantera deserves a bright color (like your yellow) that screams look at me. Then again, I'm partial to yellow.

Do what YOU want. Maybe start with the graphics and see how that sits with you before paintaing anything else. But your car is stunning as it is right now!
Mark; You're such a wizz with the Photoshop and it's great to be able to visualize the potential effect.

Danny; I would say definitely keep it original for the color scheme, it's a great looking car too nice a shade of yellow for the blackout.

If I were to change anything about this car (my personal taste) I'd switch to the euro bumperettes (or Kirk Evans bumpers that hide the shock holes as well) as I find the black 'L' bumper somewhat overpowering against the clean lines of the yellow.

Thanks, all. Great response to my first post. Looking forward to more. After seeing the leopard-spotted car in Mr. Pence's post, I've decided to duplicate that. The perfect balance of black/yellow... Big Grin

The photo-chop helped. I think I'll start with the Pantera script first and see how it goes from there. The black hood & engine cover may be too much.

I've e-mailed Kirk Evans about his bumpers. Those are a must.

Thanks again,

D. Ocean

Thanks Juian. You know if we keep working on this, we might be able to rescue this wreck and turn it into something! Big Grin
