This may sound like a strange one but has anyone ever seen a trailer hitch on a Pantera? I was on a long trip this weekend and saw several full dressed motorcycles towing a small trailer. Also, I saw a U-Haul trailer that was about double the size of a car top carrier. They got me to thinking, (sometimes dangerous and usually expensive) that if the Pantera could pull a small trailer Momma might want to go on some longer trips. I was thinking I could paint it to match the car and get some smaller Cobra R type wheels to match the car. As I said, it was a long trip.

thanks

Yes as a matter of fact, on 2 different cars. Both were custom built and attached to the studs on the back of the ZF, plus on the second car, a brace went up to attach to the tranny side mount bolts. The first was an early pre-L and was used to tow a light trailer with a Formula Super Vee. The second was used by a Navy pilot (Ellis Woumnum) who had a small trailer to move his possessions around between AF bases. I suspect this arrangement wouldn't work for big trailers nor very heavy loads. But the 2 examples lasted over 20 years with no visible damage.
