The cable bracket mounts on the second (from the front) intake manifold bolt on the drivers side.

What carb are you trying to mount?

Have you just changed from the stock Autolite to a Holley or Demon? If so you will need a special piece at the carb to make it work. It moves the ball stud towards the rear of the car and improves the geometry of the linkage.
Mike Drew provided this information. The link is gone. You might contact Mike to see if he has the photo at MikeLDrew@aol.com . It helped me several years ago. I purchased the bracket from Larry Stock. I think it was about $20 as Mike said. I have a Holly 750.

I hope this helps.

I'll send the photo to my FTP site to share the knowledge:

This photo shows a throttle cable bracket for a HOLLEY on a Pantera. Be
advised that the standard Autolite/Ford/POS carburetor had different linkage,
and the throttle cable bracket stood straight up and out from the intake
(where the red line is drawn on the photo.) Since the Holley's throttle
linkage sits further forward on the carb, if you just drop a Holley on a
Pantera without changing the throttle cable bracket, especially if it's a
double-pumper, you WILL NOT be able to get full throttle. At least half the
Panteras I've fooled around with were handicapped in this matter, BTW. What
good is your 700 hp motor if your secondaries won't open?

The solution is to install a bracket which moves the cable forward about an in
ch. The factory made this part and included it on all cars equipped with
Holleys (i.e. Euro GTS.) It's available from the vendors for an outrageous
cost ($86 last time I checked.) Roger sharp whipped out a whole bunch of
them for Larry Stock and I think he sells his copies for about $20; I'd hope
the other vendors would also have a similarly economical solution.

It's been too many years to remember, but I believe mine is one of the
megabucks factory jobs...the one my car came with was a home-made thing made
out of hand-bent tin...better than nothing, but not by a lot!

Mike
