Thats right Art, I guess the previous owner did something with them, Im getting ready to have the corners fixed, and I have some other issues that need to be addressed (paint wise). I asked Jerry at PI about that same thing, if you look in the corner of the pic and you see a little black dot. Thats the only stop I have on my car. It is just a small piece of rubber.
My engine compartment has been smoothed, I guess I am assuming the nut for the stops were welded to the underside of the panel??
Jeff
The mount for the rubber bumper on #7102 is a nut welded on top of the panel where your liitle piece of rubber is glued. The weld failed on the left side of the car and the nut came loose. I found that by pulling the tail light housing I was able to reach in and install a nut and washer on the stud from underneath and resecure it nicely without having to reweld anything.

Larry,
That sounds like a very good idea! One of my stops is in the wrong location. I may just grind off the old nut and put a bolt in from the bottom secured by a nut, in the proper location.
Thanks,
Art
Good luck Jeff. If you can, start from inside the light bucket to ensure alignment of the holes. It's a tight area, but if you can at least mark the location, you'll be fine. Make sure to use lock washers and/or nuts to keep the new posts from drifting or falling out (as one of mine just did).
