Well, the deal I got on my goose is never ending in the gifts that it gives back. I went to start the goose, and stupidly stomped on the accelerator petal to get it started. Well, I pulled the cable, which i had replaced, out of the carb connection that I had rigged up. When I got my car, someone had band-aided the throttle by soldering the petal to the cable. I removed the cable, and replaced it with a VW cable, which attached very nicely to the petal. On the other end though, I had nothing. So it looks like I am back to the drawing board. Looking for thoughts, and chuckles...

Wellis, It's the journey not the destination. In your case I guess the journey was short and identical to the destination. Nah, the Mangusta always has little surprises, and I take them in strides, the fellowship is the best, drove 5 hours to a show last week, had a cahrging issue so I changed the battery halfways, then charged it there and changed the battery half ways again. It's all fun. :P Wink Smiler
here is a pic of the way my gas pedal cable is attached,

Here is carb end, although I have a Holley (stock should be a Motorcraft 4300 IIRC). FWIW, the ball on the carb linkage is smaller than the socket end on the linkage so I have a safety wire...

We,
On the gas pedal end of the throttle cable, under the removable panel in the front luggage compartment, there is a gas pedal over run adjustment. It is a nifty bolt and lock nut that you set. Have someone put the pedal to the floor and then unscrew the pedal stop bolt until it touches the pedal, stopping it. Then make sure, on the carburetor end of the cable that the throttle plate is wide open. That will prevent stretching or breaking the cable.
