The new volt meter might not be accurate, so with the motor running, take a voltage reading across the battery with an electric test meter and compare the test meter reading to your new volt meter.

In the good ol' days we set the mechanical voltage regs at 13.65 volts, but that was a long time ago. Those tiny little solid state voltage regulators they install inside alternators aren't adjustable, Ford's spec says anything between 13 and 15 volts is OK! So even if your new meter is accurate, 15 volts is OK.
