I was just at my local Home Depot and they have Husky brand wrenches on at a great price.

The 20 piece set (10 Metric & 10 SAE in the kit) is $14.99, the 32 Piece set (16 Metric & 16 SAE in the kit) is $24.99. Of course, each kit skips different sizes, so you need to buy both kits to get a full range, but for wrenches with a lifetime warranty, $0.75 per wrench is pretty good.

I don't shop at Sears enough to have known that (thanks for the insight). I used to buy more there, but I've gone through 2 Craftsman cordless drills that died far too quickly (both made in China), while my 'Rigid' from HD (also from China) has lasted far longer, so Sears has kinda lost my business for tools, and I've just assumed that all of their product is coming from non-NA sources - my most recent purchase at Sears was a Kenmore washer which I later found out was a rebranded LG or some such made overseas.

I bought new seat belts from one of the vendors for my cat, and guess what, made in Taiwan! It's not as easy to keep foreign (non Italian or American) parts out of our cars as some might hope - even when you purchase from our primary North American sources.

My tools are all Craftsman. At least for now still made in U.S.

Sorry to say Craftsman hand tools are made for Sears by Danaher Tools and are a mix of USA and import.

Craftsman Power tools are import.

Quality has most definitely suffered in recent years.

Craftsman wrenches, sockets etc. are still marked made in the US. Their low end tools are in fact imported primarily Chinese. Sadly I have noticed that some of their new offerings in their “professional” line pliers are made in China. A bad omen of things to come.

As for their power tools they seem to be all Chinese made. When I was shopping for a new cordless drill I could not find a single brand not made in China. I purchased a “Milwaukee” lithium that has been in their local repair shop 4 times. They have replaced the charger, lithium batteries, motor, and trigger switch. Pretty sad.

I sold my Nissan and bought a Denali. Nice truck. Too bad the quality is crap. The truck is in the shop once a month.
I'll be buying Jap or German again for the next vehicle.
