I have heard of some who could loosen mounts, jack, and get enough clearance to do so. But the problem is, you'll note 2 long bolts/pins that go all the way through from one side to the other and have to be removed in order to remove the bottom cover. If you can get enough clearance to get those out, you're good, but that's unlikely due to the frame rails being in the way. If/when you remove the bottom cover, make notes of the shims that will come out as you remove those 2 pins, as it will have been shimmed to equalize the load at those bottom bolts into the side plates. If you do remove it (however way), check for safety wiring of the ring gear bolt heads. If it's not already safety wired, you should do so while you're in there.
