I have 3 wires for the alternator. The thick black plus wire for the ampmeter goes on the big terminal, but to which of the remaining two small terminals are the small orange and black wires connected?

The altanator is an 80 Amp version from DB electric.

The brown wire goes to the terminal marked "Field" or "F" . The other one goes to the remaining terminal.

Kristian,

The orange wire goes to the "F" (field) terminal. The other wire (green at the alternator, green/red stripe at the voltage regulator connector....yes, a "factory" splice in the wire loom) goes to the "S" (stator) terminal. Look at the wire colors at the voltage regulator and the markings on the regulator.

Ok - that makes sence. The other alternator wire is indeed green under the insulation.

I think I'm almost there - no more loose wires
