Hey guys/gals,

Need some help here. Les Gray is just about done with my baby, but there is one big problem. She won't start Confused because of a fuel delivery problem.

I am in desperate need of a late model ('74) fuel pickup/sender that works.

Please let me know if you, or anybody you know, has one that they would be willing to sell me.

Thanks.

From what I was told, on the '71 and early 72 models, one part was in the gas tank (the sender I think Confused) and one part was outside the tank. When the sender in the tank failed, there is nothing you can do.

But, in the later cars the pickup/sender were one assembly outside the tank, so when it failed, just replace it.

It looks like both parts on my car failed Frowner (mine is an early '71)

If I could get a late model pickup/sender we could use that and just plug the bad part in the tank.

Confusing enough? It is for me! Big Grin
Right on Roland !
Thanks for stepping up and helping Adam out.

Little tip by side: The Fiat X1/9 unit is very close to the Pantera unit. A little bending her and there and it works perfect. (DT did the same when they where out on the originals).
Don't tell it to the others.....
Hang in there buddy.
Rolands idea will probably work and cost you a lot less.
Shouldn't be much longer....

John, I believe Les found a guy in Phoenix who had one. He was also talking to some guys around the US, so I am not sure which one he ended up buying through.

I will be talking to Les on Monday, I'll let you guys know then.

Adam

Kats...
When you see Les ask him if he has ever found the ebrake? He said he thought he had one? The button on my 73 doesn't work. Its only been a little over a year and a half. DOH! Whats a little time among friends!
Thanks Curt

Adam,

Were you able to locate a source for this?

thanx,

John, I apologize for not getting back to you about this. Things have been crazy with the car, and my work.

I don't know where Les got the part, but I do know that the fuel pickup for a 1974-1977 CARBURATED X19 is what will work w/ some minor modifications.

I will try and contact Les and see where he ended up finding one.

Also, I believe Coz might have found a source. I will ask him as well.

Take care,

Adam

There was one on eBay this week. But I think the auction is over.

Do the vendors actually have one in stock, or is that old info?

Is the price of $400 accurate?

Chuck, I spoke with one of the vendors about 2-3 weeks ago about this....they quoted me $385 plus shipping. They DID have them in stock (not sure how many, though)
