Hi guys/Gals,

These Carello licence plates lights were mounted on many 60s Maserati’s and Ferrari’s, iso griffo and so on. I was curious to know if these were used on the Pantera’s as well? I see them now and then on ebay but never see any seller offering them to Pantera owners. Part #s are
12504019 on the dome, 10504580 on the body.

Thanks for your help!

Robert

Okay, that was blunt BUT thank you very much!

Well Rob,

It was about 4:45 am, getting ready for work, when I do a quick check of things online. Unlike most postings that I might reply too but don't really have the time for, this one was pretty easy if just 'bluntly' answered. Wink

Pantera unit is perhaps unique - I've never seen one sold under another marque.

Hey Rob, I believe that Larry is probably correct(he usually is about these cars). The reason I say probably however is that I ordered a replacement license plate light from one of the vendors a couple years ago and the one that I received looked quite similar to the one that you pictured. It was in a sealed bag with the factory DeTomaso logo on it. When I called the dealer, they told me that the unit I received was the replacement from the factory and it required use of 2 and enlargement of the 2 holes. I don't remember if I sent it back or put it in my stack of Pantera "treasures", but in any event I didn't use it.

The two lenses in the light are pop rivetted into the cover - yes, pop rivets.

Backing is cast pot metal, cover is stamped steel. Don't know if the backing has any manufacturer anywhere on it - didn't remove it from body. Cover has no marks at all. The lenses ARE Carello but in all my eBay searching, under Carello searching for my GRP4 tail lights, I have never seen this plate light.

Common sense says if it was Alfa, or Fiat, or Lancia I would have come across one. I think it is unique to the Pantera.

Larry
