I have accepted a long term assignment in Montreal QC, and the cat will have to stay at home in Washington State. A friend will start the cat once in a while (no driving, yeh right). My problem is that I have a Chocolate lab/cocker mix that my wife and I will not part with. I need to find a place that accepts a dog. The apt that my company puts Expats up in does not acceept dogs. I have talked to a dog trainer in Vaudreuil that will help me and board the dog if need be, and he said that there are "dog hotels" near him that are pretty good. My question is do any of you in Montreal know of any apartments near Montreal that accept dogs?

It's going to be real tough to not see the cat sitting in the garage every day.

Thanks

Welcome to La Belle Province. There are bunch of Pantera owners here - about 20 (but only 12 or so that actually drive them!). Most of us have dogs and apartments are very dog oriented here. People take their dogs shopping with them everywhere.

Let me know what you need and what part of town you will be working in and I will investigate for you. When are you starting?

I'm sure we can hook you up with somewhere to keep your Cat too. Summer and fall is beautiful here. So is spring. But Jan - Apr isn't the best driving weather Wink
Thanks David,

I will be working at (I believe) 1500 University, Suite 910 Montreal, Quebec H3A3S7. I will be starting on July 19th. Since this is considered an International assignment the company will not ship my car, I will have to pay, but they will pay for mileage and expenses If I drive there. I will most likely only ship or drive our E550 4 Matic and the cat will have to purr in the garage. Unless I get so depressed and have it shipped also.

Thanks again David

Wellll,I bet they would ship it to Maine, right?

So if they like you so much that they are transferring you instead of downsizing you, seems like you could start a bit of bargaining along the lines of it being no further than Maine.

And probably not any more expensive.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Worst that could happen is "No".

Good point Larry. Squeaky wheels do get greased for a while then they are replaced. I agree with the "Question Authority" that's why I applied for the position in Montreal.

If I can't drive my cat I can at least lend a hand in Montreal to get those 8 cats running and on the road. I know every nut and bolt now on a r&r of the ZF, engine, clutch, head light gears & tank.
