My switch to sunthetic oil has confirmed my conclusions from my past experiences.
If you didn't have a leak, one will start, if you DO have a leak, it'll get worse!
My car wasn't leaking a drop, then I changed to the same weight/brand oil in synthetic, and I have a decent sized puddle under the car after each drive.
Later today I'll get her back up on jackstands and figure out where she's leaking from, but I may also just blow another $100 and switch back to dino oil, because it didn't leak.
I'll make that determination after I find where the leak is coming from.
I am using Mobil1 in 5 cars. Some like the Pantera since 1985. Nothing leaks.
Some synthetics shrink the seals and tighten them up, others swell them.
The cork gasket on the oil pan will shrink and crack with age irregardless of which type you use.
Don't replace it with cork. Silicone the thing on.

Redline sealed a leaking axle seal on my ZF. I wonder how their engine oil stacks up?

I may have spoken too soon.
The initial drive with synthetic oil left a decent sized puddle.
The second drive left a smaller but similar puddle under the car overnight.
SO, today I went back and bought 9 quarts of non-synthetic 15-50 oil of the same brand as I had before (that didn't leak), I jack the car up on stands (after getting the oil to 200) and no leaks. I'ma gonna leave it on the stands for a few hours. If it doesn't show any leakage then I'll be running synthetic oil in my car for a while lol!
Can the seals have shrunk, and then swelled??
I did drive the car for a couple tankfulls of gas before I changed the oil after installing my new rockers (Rockers only have seen new oil). There was always a drop or 2, but nothing I'd call a leak (with the dino oil).
I did notice a drop coming off the drain plug, so I gave it an extra nudge, maybe that's all it was?
We'll see here in a few hours.
Knowing my luck, there won't be any more leakage, but then after I drop the car down and drive it again it'll start leaking like a sieve lol.

Are you sure someone doesn't come in the garage at night and mess with it?

I paint the entire engine & oil pan WHITE!!!...helps to locate oil leaks...Let them LAUGH!...Whilst the detractors attempt to find their collective leaks against a Ford Blue surface...Mark

Mike's car already had "DIE" in the oil....
That's what got us started on this thread!

Paint the engine Black. Black engines don't leak! Or at least you'll never see the leaks.

Well I suppose I could start an entire new thread on that one? Die, dye, Di'.
You know for years I could never find "Thin Lizzie" on the record charts because I thought it was spelt "Tin Lizzie"? Or is that spelled? Don't start up, ok? I'll get outside your bed room window at 4am and test new cowbells or is that cow bells?
I could never get selfpropelled enough to find it?
Explain me this...why is it wheelbarrow and not wheelbarrel? After all, that's what the freakin' thing is...a barrel with wheels on it? WTF is a barrow? Got that one wrong on the SAT's too? Gee-sh!
I'd ask Clarkson but 1) he ain't there no more and 2) he'd probaly want to race one against a Prius...or is that a Primus...better yet a Platipus...oh gee-zus, ok, a platypus, then they's need to go to Australia?
Damn...now there's kangaroos involved? See what you started?

It wasn't that long ago, I thought Mike was going to rename his car to "Lady Di".

I told him to look out for the 'seven dwarfs'. No body listens?

So easily people forget my comments about my 1911.
Them dwarfs is long gone!
Even managed to not put any holes in the car.
The trick was to put the bait (my mom's friend's pecan morning rolls, NO ONE can resist them) far enough away from the car so that I didn't hit the car when I took the shots! lol.

It DOES look like a big cow patty, but I'll tell you, that is THE most DELICIOUS morning bun/pecan roll thingamajigger cow patty looking piece of culinary mastery.
