Good evening,
I had yesterday a closer look to the fixation of the lower rear suspension arms and found spacers between the arm and the frame which does not look right to me (photo). Seems that the car was not running straight and the previous owner found a creative solution. I found spacers on both sides (forward and aft bolts) but different in numbers. I suppose that those spacers are not standard design, right? Could this be an indication of an accident?

....for me that does not look professional.

It is a DeTomaso.

It was never intended to be a Pebble Beach Concours 100 point car.

It was a high-volume (for such a car at that time) production automobile.

What you are seeing is likely just as it left the factory.

If it bothers you that much, I suppose you could remove the shims and have them chromed. Big Grin

Sig, if the rear wheel camber is aligned to specs WITH alignment shims, that means your car has NOT had the dreaded 'rear-subframe-collapse' so prevalent among hard driven or big-tire Panteras. Congratulations! This is rather rare; most cars not only need the shims removed, they add a longer upper a-arm to return the rear wheel camber alignment to stock. THat's why seeing factory shims is unusual.
