Do you mean the Little 90 Degree Adaptor? NO! It is NOT intigral. I just took mine out 2 days ago. Unscrew the collar and it slides out. Sounds like your is jammed in there pretty good. Maybe some penitrating oil and use vise-grips, pull with all your might; but don't hurt yourself. I do not know if this will damage anything. Good-Luck! Marlin.
...Upon looking at it a little closer, there IS a small tube sticking out (from the adaptor) about 1/2, Yes!! This IS part of the 90 degree Gearbox and should NOT be pulled on! The SQUARE end of your flex cable slides into this tube, and should pull out easily. Marlin.

good info--I lubed and pulled and this thing doesn't budge--so your saying the cable has a female end--the speedo cables I have seen have a crimped male end and fit into a female fitting --does the speedometer also have a male end?--if so the cable has a female end at the gearbox and the speedo????
I just replaced my speedo cable, mine broke at the other end. The cable at the end by the speedo head had a male end with a crimped on "stop" about 3/4 to an inch from the end. The other end is formed into a square shape that fits into the speedo drive unit. The question you need to determine is if you have a V.D.O. drive or a Borletti drive. Wilkonson has a picture (drawing) of the 2 types on his website to help you determine which one you have if you are not sure. My Borletti had the number "50-0804" stamped in it which is the number Pantera East has in its catalog next to the Borletti drive

Also when I took the drive unit out of my car, the drive was very difficult to turn manually. It had a catch in it that would hang up every 4th or 5th revolution. I lubed the hell out of it and spun it for about an hour in my drill til it turned smoothly by hand. DO NOT REMOVE THE BOLT BELOW THE SPEEDO DRIVE. IF YOU DO THERE IS A PART THAT WILL FALL INTO THE TRANSMISSION REQUIRING TRANSMISSION REMOVAL AND TEARDOWN.

Good luck

yes it was complete, I initially planned to remove the old cable from the housing and put the new cable into the old housing but I recall that the old housing may have been a half inch or so too long, so I needed to use the new housing. Working from the dash I taped the new transmission end to the old dash end and used the old one to pull the new one into place. It followed the exact same routing as the old one. Since I had my console out I pulled it as far as the firewall and then untaped them and fed the new one through the firewall and back to the transmission.

I figured it out--the 90 gearbox does have a female fitting--the cable was broken clean at the junction--took a drill bit and got a few of the broken cables out and pulled out the end with pliers--both ends of the cable are male--as I hoped--gearbox runs smoothe--after sitting in oil all nigght--new cable on order--thanx for the guideance--I will need more
